Luscombe 8A G-BVEP Serial number 1468 with a Continental A65 engine and original Sensenich wooden propeller.
This Luscombe was built in September 1940, although registered as an 8a it is in fact an 8c which had art-deco instrument panels. It has gone through a complete overhaul over the past 7 years and is back to its original, beautiful, 1940 condition. The engine had a top-end overhaul 5 hrs ago, and the propeller was refurbished by Hercules Props. All rebuild documents and photos available.
Holders had been attached to the windows to hold a hand held radio and iPhone - for Sky Demon navigation.
Initially registered as NC28707 and imported into the UK around 1999, it has fabric covered wings; and no electrics so has no radio or transponder to worry about and is started by the good old method of hand propping. Airframe hours 2878, Engine was zero hour’d and now has 16 hrs.
After the rebuild it was issued with a new CofA (25 Nov 22) and a NARC issued on 5 Feb 2023.
