A Sling TSi flying group based at Shoreham
This is an opportunity to own one sixth of a brand-new Sling TSi based at Shoreham. The aeroplane is being built by two private pilots under the supervision of the Light Aircraft Association (LAA). Building will commence in 2023 and the aeroplane should be available to fly in 2025. Initially the aeroplane will be certified for daytime VFR flight, with IFR and night-time certification expected to follow. We will equip the aeroplane with the latest Garmin avionics including G3X EFIS, GFC 500 Autopilot and GTN 650xi Navigator. Powered by Rotax’s turbo-charged 915 iS,
this aeroplane will be a truly 21st Century tourer.

Value for money
As a home-built LAA Permit aircraft, the Sling TSi offers great
value for money. An equivalent aeroplane on the CAA’s certified
register would cost around four times as much to buy. Running
costs are very reasonable – we estimate monthly fixed costs of
£150 per shareholder (much of which is hangar rental at
Shoreham) and hourly flying costs of just £35 + fuel, which include
building an engine and propeller fund. The share price is good
value too – completed Sling TSis comparably equipped are on sale
in the US for $320,000 or more.

“A four-place cruiser that carries several hours’ worth of fuel and a respectable luggage load. This sexy Sling TSi does so in leather-wrapped comfort. It has a wider cabin than a Bonanza, looks incredible on the ramp. Its turbocharged Rotax 915 iS whisks it along at a brisk 148 knots.”
PLANE & PILOT MAGAZINE

How will the group work? The aeroplane will be co-owned by the six group members and registered as a co-ownership syndicate. The two founders will be group Trustees and will run things day-to-day under a legally binding constitution that all shareholders will sign. Major decisions will be voted on by everyone, with each shareholder having an equal vote.

Can I get involved in the build? The build will take place in Copthorne, West Sussex, and will be led by the founders. We are happy to discuss your involvement in the build if this is of interest. Either way we’ll keep you closely updated and will involve you in key milestone moments in the build.

When do I pay for my share? We will be asking all shareholders to pay for their share in full when they commit to the group. This enables us to
hedge against currency fluctuations and gives everyone certainty that the project will be completed on time.

How much flying experience is needed? The Sling TSi is a pilot-friendly
aeroplane and simple to fly. Group members need only have 100 flying hours (including training) to fly as Pilot in Command.
