No serious fantasy hangar would be complete without a classic aerobatic aeroplane. The Zlin 526 is the epitome of '60s elegance and is deemed remarkably competent both then and now by people who know about aerobatics.

G-GIBP is a 1969 model with just 1,513hrs TT. The previous owners have spent considerable sums on the aircraft, and the Walter Minor IIIS 160hp engine has just 355hrs SMOH by Vintech. The propeller has only 96hrs since new. The last ARC/Annual was completed on 24th January 2023. The compressions at annual were 78/77/78/78/75/78. We note from the logs that there was a major skin-off restoration by Hubert Aviation in France in 1992.

Avionics are mounted on a custom pedestal and comprise of an Icom A220 8.33Khz Com, Garmin GTX328 Mode S transponder with Sigtronics SPA400 intercom. The BEW is 704kg, and MTOW is 975kg, giving a useful load of 271kg. The tip tanks have been refurbished and come with the aircraft but have not been fitted.
